HOA convida - A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES/ THE ATROCITY SHOP

Projeto musical multissensorial realizado em colaboração por diversos artistas inaugura exposição e ciclo de performances durante a SP–Arte 2024.

Música, arte contemporânea e cinema se encontram na nova edição de A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES, projeto multissensorial colaborativo criado pelo artista, DJ e produtor Eduardo Pininga (EPX) e resultado da quinta edição da residência artística Fenda, encabeçada pelo fotógrafo e diretor Hick Duarte.

Ação inaugural do programa ARTISTA EM CARTAZ da HOA Galeria e com co-produção musical de Caue Gas, A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES apresenta um recorte do universo sonoro e aromático que acompanha o desenvolvimento de NUVENS OCRES, EP lançado pela MAMBArec, o qual também possui um desdobramento artístico na criação de uma fragrância-obra, desenvolvida por Anelena Toku, que será apresentada durante a exposição a partir de uma edição de múltiplos. NUVENS OCRES também se tornou fio condutor da criação de um processo de imersão com mais de quinze artistas e produtores convidados, levando a produção de dezenove músicas que sintetizam o universo de A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES.

No cenário da programação na HOA Galeria, além de uma exposição instalativa aberta para visitação pública durante o mês de abril, o projeto conta com três ativações sabáticas por meio de performances de introdução, espetáculo e exibição. A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES é um projeto experimental em ode a crítica ao capitalismo agressivo, que subverte as linguagens do mercado das coisas como forma de reivindicação da subjetividade contemporânea. Dessa forma, A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES apresenta uma série de obras conceituais que canalizam o desejo de liberdade distópica de tempos líquidos.

A exposição reúne um elenco de jovens artistas da cena underground paulistana que questionam, a partir de suas práticas, os conceitos de natureza ficcional, produtibilização do indivíduo social e simbolismos dicotômicos.

Music, contemporary art, and cinema converge in the new edition of A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES (The Atrocity Shop), a collaborative multi-sensory project created by artist, DJ, and producer Eduardo Pininga (EPX), as a result of the fifth edition of the artistic residency Fenda, led by photographer and director Hick Duarte.

As the inaugural action of the ARTIST ON STAGE program by HOA Gallery and with musical co-production by Caue Gas, A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES presents a glimpse into the sonic and aromatic universe accompanying the development of NUVENS OCRES (Ocher Clouds), an EP released by MAMBArec, which also has an artistic extension in the creation of a fragrance-artwork developed by Anelena Toku, to be presented during the exhibition as a limited edition. NUVENS OCRES has also become the guiding thread in the creation of an immersion process with over fifteen invited artists and producers, resulting in the production of nineteen songs that synthesize the universe of A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES.

Within the programming at HOA Gallery, in addition to an installative exhibition open for public visitation throughout April, the project features three Saturday activations through introductory performances, a spectacle, and an exhibition. A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES is an experimental project in ode to a critique of aggressive capitalism, subverting the languages of the market of things as a way to reclaim contemporary subjectivity. Thus, A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES presents a series of conceptual works channeling the desire for dystopian freedom in liquid times.

The exhibition brings together a cast of young artists from the São Paulo underground scene who question, through their practices, the concepts of fictional nature, the productization of the social individual, and dichotomous symbolisms.

Sobre a performance:

Todos os artistas envolvidos foram desafiados a estarem vulneráveis nessa colisão de mundos", explica EPX. Envolvendo diferentes notas e camadas, como no desenvolvimento de um perfume, a música de A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES brinca com os limites das linguagens do rap, metal, noise, R&B, trance, ópera e outros gêneros. EPX ressalta que cada artista do projeto ajudou a transformar e a adaptar o universo sonoro do EP NUVENS OCRES para o projeto de A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES, que também aborda temas como política, saúde mental e sociedade de consumo.

Para EPX, A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES é, sobretudo, um projeto que busca experimentar práticas novas do que pode ser uma performance de música eletrônica, trazendo linguagens do improviso e da arte sonora ao investigar "um jeito desafiador, tanto para os artistas como para o público, de consumir música eletrônica também em outros espaços para além do que os clubes ou festivais comerciais podem proporcionar".

Regarding the performance:

"All the artists involved were challenged to be vulnerable in this collision of worlds," explains EPX. Involving different notes and layers, much like the development of a perfume, the music of A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES plays with the boundaries of rap, metal, noise, R&B, trance, opera, and other genres. EPX emphasizes that each artist in the project helped transform and adapt the sonic universe of the EP NUVENS OCRES for the A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES project, which also addresses themes such as politics, mental health, and consumer society.

For EPX, A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES is above all a project that seeks to experiment with new practices of what an electronic music performance can be, bringing improvisation and sound art languages to investigate "a challenging way, both for artists and for the audience, to consume electronic music also in spaces beyond what clubs or commercial festivals can provide."

FENDA é um espaço multidisciplinar para o desenvolvimento de jovens artistas brasileiros a partir de mentoria, residência artística e projetos colaborativos. A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES é o trabalho resultado da quinta edição da residência artística criada em 2020 por Hick Duarte — fotógrafo e diretor mineiro cujo trabalho documenta o comportamento e as manifestações artísticas da juventude brasileira.

FENDA is a multidisciplinary space for the development of young Brazilian artists through mentorship, artistic residencies, and collaborative projects. " A LOJA DE ATROCIDADES" (The Atrocity Shop) is the outcome of the fifth edition of the artistic residency created in 2020 by Hick Duarte — a photographer and director from Minas Gerais whose work documents the behavior and artistic expressions of Brazilian youth.
